The local government of Pilar held a 2-day seminar workshop on Updating the Comprehensive Land Use Planning which is timely amid the changing times and blooming developments in the said town, held last Nov. 11-12, 2024 at the Subic Peninsula Hotel SBMA.
With the on-going construction of their Harbor City, a modern day Metropolis, it is but a strategic process to plan their entire area to efficiently utilize the land resources balancing economic, social and environmental considerations.
The discussions of the resource speakers, focused on analyzing existing land use patterns, projecting future needs and creating policies to guide sustainable developments, adding that effective land use planning is crucial for managing urbanization, conserving natural resources and promoting equitable growth.
According to Mayor Charlie Pizarro, studying the town’s land use planning is timely and essential in achieving sustainable developments. He added that they are able to have a holistic discussion on their sustainable urban developments, environmental stewardship and equitable growth by adopting integrated participatory and flexible approaches, thus creating communities that are resilient, thriving and livable environment for future generations.
Mayor Charlie also expressed pride in this momentous event with 100% attendance of LGU officials, department heads, barangay officials and stakeholders.
Equally important issues that were taken up at the seminar were, steps to be taken in comprehensive land use planning, its benefits, policies and best practices.
